youHQ announces integration with Tellmi, the mental health peer support app

Writer: Sophie BSophie B

youHQ is pleased to announce our latest integration with Tellmi, a digital app addressing the youth mental health crisis and tackling health inequalities for young people. This new partnership pushes youHQ forward in our mission to give students comprehensive, faster access to vital emotional health tools, ensuring no young person is unsupported or left behind.

Launched in 2017 as MeeToo by Suzi Godson PhD and Kerstyn Comley PhD, Tellmi utilises a clever blend of pre-moderated peer support and expert counsellor intervention. The app, available on Google Play, The App Store, and the Web, creates an anonymous safe space for users to share whatever’s on their mind.

Commissioned by the NHS, Tellmi is backed by independent research conducted by Anna Freud and UCL’s Evidence Based Unit. The multi-award winning mental health service delivers their peer and specialist support, night and day, with no referrals and no waiting lists - and is used by regional trusts and county councils across the UK.

youHQ is thrilled to be joining forces with Tellmi to enhance assistance to teachers, children and parents inside and outside the classroom. Our dedicated wellbeing platform provides a valuable online tool for monitoring emotional health, capturing student voice for safeguarding, and building key self-care skills.

With foundations in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), youHQ users are encouraged to self-reflect with mood and wellbeing surveys, create ideas, and set SMART goals. Young people can also request a check-in with trusted members of staff at school, fostering meaningful conversations and relationships to safeguard student emotional health. Our tool is used with over 75,000 students, across schools, trusts and local authorities.

How Tellmi works with youHQ

youHQ’s interactive wellbeing resources and goalsetting tools are available 24/7 on any device.  With the new partnership and integration, youHQ will now also offer in-app, direct access to Tellmi’s mental health tools, allowing for immediate intervention for students experiencing low moods.

Whilst youHQ facilitates in-person wellbeing check-ins between teachers and pupils, our integration with Tellmi will expand the range of both specialist and peer support available to young people in need.

“We’re excited to be teaming up with Tellmi to offer 360° support to youHQ users. Our new partnership is vital in providing that extra layer of help to students, something we’ve wanted to achieve for a long time. Although this integration is only available for our Leicestershire County Council schools, we hope to grow the offering in the near future.” - Jon Ford, CEO

“We are excited to announce our partnership with youHQ. Collaboration is essential in creating effective support pathways, and we believe that this partnership will greatly improve access to resources for young people in the region. We look forward to making a meaningful impact together through this collaboration.” - Kerstyn Comley, Founder

Tellmi and youHQ are forging innovative solutions to help young people in need. Together, our collaboration underlines the importance of reaching out for mental health support, be that to a teacher, a peer, a trained counsellor, or a bank of carefully curated resources.
